Credit card daily spend calculator
Turn your credit card budget into a daily allowance that updates as you go. Spend less and your future days get bigger. Spend more and they shrink.
Runs in your browser. Nothing you enter is stored or sent.
How this calculator works
It starts by dividing your budget evenly across every day from your start date to your end date. Each time you update what you've spent, it takes whatever budget is left and spreads it evenly over the days still to come. If you spend less than planned, the daily figure rises. If you overspend, it falls.
Tips for sticking to a daily budget
- Update it regularly. Enter your latest spend each day or every couple of days so the allowance stays accurate.
- Include everything on the card. Subscriptions and direct debits count towards your spend too.
- Match your statement. Set your start and end dates to your card's statement period so the budget lines up with what you owe.
- Pay in full if you can. Paying the full balance each month avoids interest.
Frequently asked questions
Should today count as a remaining day?
If you haven't spent anything today yet, choose "up to yesterday" so today's allowance is included. If you've already updated your total for today, choose "including today" and the calculation starts from tomorrow.
What if I'm over budget?
The calculator will show that the budget is used up and how much you're over by. You can raise the budget, extend the end date, or aim to spend nothing for the rest of the period.
Does it save my numbers?
No. Everything is calculated in your browser and nothing is stored or sent anywhere.
Is this financial advice?
No. It's a simple budgeting aid. If you're struggling with debt, free help is available from services such as MoneyHelper and StepChange.
